The Seventeenth Sunday after Trinity

Oct 12, 2025    The Rt. Rev Dr. Charles Camlin

This Homily reminds us that stewardship is not about ownership but about trust. Everything we have, our time, talents, and treasure, has been entrusted to us by God. King David declared, “All things come of Thee, O Lord, and of Thine own have we given Thee,” recognizing that our offerings are simply returning what already belongs to Him.

Like David, we are called to see our possessions as gifts, not achievements. Our jobs, skills, and even the air we breathe come from God's grace. When we give, we do so not out of duty but gratitude, offering back a portion of what He has so generously given.

God measures not the amount we give but the faithfulness and joy in our hearts. May we remember that true stewardship begins with thanksgiving and live each day mindful that all things come from Him.
