The First Sunday after Easter
Apr 12, 2026 • The Most Rev. Dr. Ray Sutton
This Easter homily proclaims the resurrection as the foundation of a Christian worldview in John 20:19 to 29 and the new creation revealed in John 1:1 to 14. It shows how Christ rises as the true beginning of a renewed world, fulfilling the pattern of creation and opening an eighth day of new life. The homily highlights the risen body of Christ as real and transformed, pointing to the mystery of his presence and the promise of our future resurrection. It connects this truth to the Prayer Book witness of Easter faith and the life of the Church. It calls the parish to trust in the risen Christ who conquered death and continues to renew the world and his people.
