Palm Sunday
Before we build anything for God, we first give it back to him.
Theme: Christ cleanses and consecrates his people before he builds his kingdom through the cross.
This Palm Sunday homily explains the pattern of consecration before construction through the triumphal entry and the cleansing of the temple in Matthew 21:12 to 13. It shows how Christ the King enters Jerusalem to put all things right, not by worldly power but through the Passion that leads to victory in Holy Week. The homily connects the Church’s groundbreaking and dedication of land with Christ’s purification of sacred space and his saving work for all nations. It reflects the Prayer Book tradition of blessing places and people with holy water and prayer. It invites the parish to consecrate their lives to Christ as he builds his kingdom through his incarnation death and resurrection.
